SATURDAY 30TH JULY 2011 EXHIBITION HALL, BORDERWAY MART, CARLISLE
The National Limousin Show 2011 which took place on Saturday 30th July in the Exhibition Hall, Borderway Mart, Carlisle was heralded the centrepiece of a fantastic Limousin weekend which commenced the previous day at the Haltcliffe home of the Ridley family at Hesket New market, Wigton.
The weekend was part of the celebration of the breed's 40th anniversary year in the UK and its forward and continuous promotion towards the next ten years and beyond. British Limousin Cattle Society Chairman Jim Bloom, said "the breed has come a very long way in a very short time and all the parts that make up the Limousin Team should be very proud of today's position as the UK's Number One beef breed, a position held now for over 14 years and since BCMS began. The Limousin weekend helped us to celebrate that whilst maintaining our focus to showcase the commercial attributes of the breed to both the existing and new generation of beef producers."
